Award for Alliance Mediation Management from NCFE

Alliance is delighted to be awarded NCFE’s Investing in Quality licence for its mediation training courses which will now be accredited by NCFE.  Alliance Mediation Management is now a recognised examination centre and will be running their Mediation Skills Foundation Course and the Mediation Skills Advanced course as accredited NCFE courses. Our Investing in Quality (IIQ) licence is helping a Nottingham-based consultancy reduce stress in the workplace. Alliance Mediation Management delivers accredited, bespoke qualifications in Mediation Skills at foundation level and advanced level through our IIQ licence. NCFE’s IIQ licence offers colleges and learning providers a quality assurance framework for the development, delivery and evaluation of bespoke learning.

Peggy Nicholls, Director of Alliance Mediation Management, said: “Many employers see mediation as a dynamic and cost-effective means of resolving issues within the workplace. With changes being made to the Employment Act to reduce the number of workers taking employers to tribunals we knew the time was right to have our courses accredited. NCFE gave us the guidance we needed to create the perfect skills set for our learners.”

ACAS urges businesses to try mediation first

Meanwhile, ACAS is urging businesses to make more of an effort to resolve disputes with employees earlier, to avoid prolonged damage to productivity and relationships within the workplace. The arbitration and conciliation body's chairperson, Rita Donaghy, said at a summit last week that employers should make better use of mediation services, which can resolve disputes without resorting to a tribunal.
