ACAS urges businesses to try mediation first
24 October 2006
Meanwhile, ACAS is urging businesses to make more of an effort to resolve disputes with employees earlier, to avoid prolonged damage to productivity and relationships within the workplace. The arbitration and conciliation body's chairperson, Rita Donaghy, said at a summit last week that employers should make better use of mediation services, which can resolve disputes without resorting to a tribunal.
ACAS recognises what Alliance Mediation Management have known for a while – using mediation in the workplace offers a "FRESH" approach to workplace disputes. Not only can mediation help to resolve disputes but also avoid damage to relationships and productivity as well as expensive tribunal or recruitment costs.
Why not check out our information on workplace mediation to fully understand the benefits of using this tool early on in a break down of relationships at work and save yourself the aggro of disciplinary / grievance / tribunal processes with the added benefit of also showing the tribunals that the employer has tried everything within their power to resolve the issues being presented. The benefit of using Alliance Mediation Management is that they are truly independent of any tribunal process.
